About

I’m India—a designer, strategist, and storyteller with a background in illustration and spatial experience design, and a belief that good design should move people through spaces, narratives, and ideas.

My work sits at the intersection of visual design, content, and physical experience. I design brands, graphics, and communication systems, and I’m equally interested in how those ideas exist in the real world through exhibitions, wayfinding, environments, and campaigns that people actively engage with. If design is a form of storytelling, I’m interested in every chapter.

I bring experience across nonprofit, corporate, and educational spaces, having worked in remote and in-person settings as a freelancer, contractor, and team member. I’ve supported organizations through brand development, content and social media management, multi-channel campaigns, and on-the-ground visual presentation.

Place matters to me. I’m especially drawn to projects rooted in the Hudson Valley, as well as work with environmental and educational organizations that value long-term impact and public engagement. I’m motivated by design that is ethical, thoughtful, and informed by research, with respect for both its audience and its surroundings.

My academic background supports and informs my professional practice. I hold a BFA in Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology, with minors in Art History and English Writing, and an MA in Marketing Communications from Marist University, where I also completed a graduate certificate in Ethical and Strategic Leadership. I apply this training daily through strategic messaging, audience analysis, ethical decision-making, and integrated communication planning.

I’ve also spent several years as a writing and speaking tutor and as a research assistant, experiences that continue to shape how I listen, analyze, and communicate.

At the core of my practice is momentum. I’m always exploring new ways to connect ideas to people through design, language, and experience. And yes, if permanent roller skate feet were an option, I would still say yes. Although I am more of a cyclist today.
