Walkway Greater Experience Activation
The Walkway Over the Hudson NYS Park is currently promoting an off-the-walkway visitor experience. The Greater Walkway Experience outlines nine discovery zones encouraging exploration throughout the historic urban districts and small hamlets of Poughkeepsie and Highland.
The following proposed activation is a mobile space that can reach each of these nine zones, as well as other local areas to promote exploration on and off the Walkway.
This space enhances the Greater Walkway Experience mission to educate visitors about the region, advocate for local businesses, and foster community.
2021 PAVE Student Design Competition
This project was part of a competition. The 2021 PAVE Student Design Competition asked students to consider the third space as the heart of a community’s social vitality. Students considered the aspects of retail, scalability, materiality, technology, accessibility and sustainability when designing a small-scale intervention to enhance an existing outdoor community space.
